CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Another day of heat and humidity across the WBTV viewing area Friday gave way to a few strong thunderstorms.

By 7 p.m., some strong storms had already moved through the Carolinas.

The National Weather Service reported that trees were down in the Davidson area in Mecklenburg Co., and in Chesterfield and York Counties in SC.

In Mooresville, the wind blew the door of the Best Buy on Highway 150 so hard that a window was shattered, WBTV has learned.

The weekend will drop down into the low 90s with the chance for a stray thunderstorm.
