World Disc Golf Championships wrap up

Charlotte, NC - (WBTV)

It's been a pretty big week in the Disc Golf world, with the Professional Disc Golf World Championship happening here in Charlotte.

There was over 1,100 competitors, that's the largest gathering ever in the history of the sport. Sam Nicholson, Executive Director of this year's tournament says they used 14 courses across the Charlotte area, and 5 courses were built just for this event. The preparations took about 5 years, and the fans and players say it's by far the best World Championships they've ever been to.

Florida's Paul McBeth won the men's world title, and Idaho's Sarah Hokom is the women's world champion.
