A viewer posted on our See, Click, Fix page: "Due to the heat the past few weeks, just recently the concrete sidewalk has buckled on Pleasant plains rd on the left hand side just before you cross over the bridge that is over 485."
We confirmed with the Matthews Public Works Department that the heat did in fact damage the sidewalk.
Crews have since gone out and fixed it. So those walking this stretch will no longer run into a safety hazard here.
