A viewer, who uses an electric wheelchair, said the intersection is a hazard to pedestrians because there was no crosswalk to help people cross Monroe Road safely.
Big changes have since happened at the intersection. A brand new crosswalk has been installed with markings in the road for pedestrians to know where to cross, a countdown pedestrian signal and push buttons.
Charlotte DOT said this crosswalk was possible through a joint effort with NCDOT.
