CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are asking for the public help's to identify a man they say could be a serial robber.
The latest crimes happened early Wednesday morning when police say the gunman robbed two different gas stations, including the Exxon on Old Providence Road in south Charlotte.
Chris Baltimore lives nearby and hopes police catch the gunman soon.
"I live here, I raise a family here," he said. "We shouldn't be having people trying to rob places. Someone should something about it."
Detectives tell WBTV that they believe that this suspect may potentially be the same one that robbed convenience stores during May and June of this year.
In all, police say the man could be responsible for at least a dozen robberies.
All of these robberies have taken place between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., and all occurred at convenience stores and gas stations.
Tom Bush, another neighbor, is afraid the gunman may get more than he bargained for during the next crime.
"People are tired of it and there's a lot of folks that carry concealed weapons that are gonna be in there," said Bush. "They're gonna see a robbery going down and they're gonna help and they're gonna kill somebody."
The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male between the ages of 20 and 30.
He is approximately 5'10"-6'0", with and average, muscular build. He also has some facial hair and is left handed.
The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a gray and black digital camouflage zip-up hooded sweatshirt, with a black t-shirt underneath, and a black ski mask over his face with the hood of the sweatshirt pulled up.
The suspect was also wearing blue gloves with a "NY" logo on them and had a black or silver handgun, according to the official report.
