Severe weather spreading across the area

Good afternoon, this is Maureen O'Boyle in the WBTV newsroom with some of the stories we're working on for our news at 5:00pm.

Storms are really starting to kick up in the mountains and foothills, bringing with them a lot of rain and they are spreading into the metro area.  We are tracking the potential for severe weather in our First Alert Weather Center.  We'll have the latest information to keep you and your family safe at five.

I-85 is back open for commuters tonight but a chain reaction wreck this morning sent seven people to the hospital.  We'll have the latest on the investigation and what we know about those injured at five. Click here to see the photos.

And the fourth smallest baby in the world lives in our area.  The baby's mother shares an incredible story tonight!

I hope you'll join Paul Cameron, Eric Thomas, me and the rest of the WBTV news team tonight at five!
