Pittenger pulls out the win in District 9 runoff

Good morning on this Wednesday, July 18. This is Christine Nelson sending you a quick email. I finished going through the rundown and wanted to give you a first look at the stories we're working on when you turn on WBTV News this Morning. We're on from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

The runoff results are in. The most talked-about and contentious race for the Republican nomination in District 9 is settled. We'll let you hear from Robert Pittenger on his win and Jim Pendergraph on his defeat. Plus we'll direct you to the spot on our website where you can go and get results from all the runoff races.

We're live this morning from Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte where there was yet another robbery. Our Cam Man Ron Lee is already headed that way to see how security has been heightened since a person was robbed at gunpoint in the hospital parking lot last night.

VIDEO ALERT: You have to see the video of how a parking attendant was rescued from an SUV after it plunged down an elevator shaft in New York! We'll show it to you this morning.

We have weather and traffic updates every 10 minutes to help you plan your morning. See you on the air!
