SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -
Investigators in Rowan County say they've seized more than 300 pounds of marijuana at a truck stop.
The incident was reported on Tuesday when Sheriff's Deputies noticed a suspicious tractor trailer.
The truck, with license plates from Texas, was traveling from the southwest border to New York with a cargo of mangos, according to a news release from the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.
After searching the trailer, deputies found 317 pounds of marijuana hiding among the cargo.
Hermilo Gomez, 41, of Texas, is charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana, one count of maintaining a vehicle and one count of conspiracy to traffic marijuana, according to the release.
Gomez's bond was set at $100,000.
