FORT MILL, SC (WBTV) - Madeline's story started about 2 years ago when, as a puppy, her owner didn't want her.
Sarah Lewis from Halfway There Rescue says the former owner was a breeder who wasn't pleased with a litter of Daschund puppies because they weren't pure bred. Sarah took the puppies and now at least one of them is a star.
Along with co-founder Abbey Sloan, Sarah found the perfect home for Madeline with a couple in Pawley's Island, South Carolina.
Owner Jason Wheeler posted a video of Madeline scurrying around the beach, trying her best to chase a ghost crab. The video has almost 1.2 million views on YouTube. Her story goes to spotlight the work done by Sarah and her rescue partner. The two work tirelessly to put pets in homes and save them from euthanasia.
Halfway There Rescue has several pure bred adoptable dogs looking for great homes. For more information check out www.halfwaythererescue.com
