CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Being diagnosed as allergic to peanuts can be a life-changer for many families.
Now, however, a new test is changing lives in a different way. In some cases it's taking the stress and the stigma from those who suffer with allergies to peanuts.
Dr. Maeve O'Connor, a Board Certified Allergist and Immunologist, is among the first in the US to use a new testing technology to better diagnose a patient's peanut allergy.
It's called the UKnow Peanut test and it reveals the level of risk of allergic reaction to peanuts. It's able to pinpoint the part of the peanut a person is allergic to and we know which parts of the peanut are responsible for specific symptoms.
To learn more you can watch Dr. O'Connor during her appearance on WBTV News Sunday Morning.
