Extra security is on hand this weekend at the NC Music factory after a violent argument early Friday morning.
Two people were shot after an argument.
"It was a fight between two groups of guys", one security guard told us moments after the shooting happened.
"The guys with the biggest guns won."
Andrew Oneil, who was walking out of a nearby bar, said at first it sounded like fireworks.
"At first it was a burst of like ten or twelve" said Oneil. "then there was like a minute or so, and then maybe another five."
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police raced to a parking lot off Hampton Street at the NC Music Factory.
There, they said they found two people outside of a car suffering from gunshot wounds. According to Medic, the first victim was struck in the lower torso, and has life threatening injuries. The second man shot was hit in the leg, and should recover.
The CMPD said this all started at Club Halo around 2am. There was a private party going on inside with an all-Asian clientele.
A couple of African-American patrons tried to get in, but were denied according to officers.
That's when an argument ensued, and quickly escalated. The fight moved to the parking lot, and at least one man pulled a gun, and shot the two Asian victims.
"You're just so close, you're hanging out with some friends...honestly, you're just having a good time, and then to think that how many yards? Like 50 yards away this is going on." said Carrie, a bar patron that didn't want her last name used.
The gunman jumped in a black Dodge Charger, and sped away. The CMPD said they were able to locate two people in relation to the shooting and currently have them in custody. There are no reports of charges filed as of yet.
