Do Americans need to fall in love with Mitt Romney in order for him to defeat President Barack Obama?

Speaker of the House John Boehner doesn't seem to believe so. In fact, he seems to believe that American's won't fall "in love" with Romney after all.

So what do the polls say? Why are Independent voters in 12 swing states moving away from Romney and toward President Obama?
