CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
More heavy downpours are on tap for the Charlotte region Wednesday.
WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin says muggy conditions will fuel more storms with heavy downpours creating the potential for flash flooding in local areas.
Wednesday's high temperature will top out around 82 and drop back down to around 70 overnight.
The area has seen just over a half-inch of rainfall this month. But, Conklin says, the rainfall deficit for the year is still over 5 inches.
Conklin said this pattern of heavy rainfall in the afternoon and evening hours will linger through the end of the week.
