Flight from Charlotte diverted, crew members hospitalized

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - An airplane from Charlotte headed to Rome, Italy, had to make an unscheduled landing because several people reported feeling sick.

US Airways Flight 720 stopped in Philadelphia a little before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday after crew members became nauseous.

There were reports of an odor in the cabin.

Five crew members were taken to a hospital for observation, but no illnesses were reported by the 176 passengers.

The plane is back on its way to Rome with a new crew.
