Three townhomes were damaged by fire Saturday afternoon in east Charlotte.
The heaviest damage appeared to be in the attic areas of the homes along Iron Gate Lane, off Sharon Amity Road.
Charlotte Fire called extra resources to the scene, dispatching the fire as a two-alarm. Crews told WBTV that's because the heat made conditions more dangerous than usual.
