CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

First responders in uptown said more than ten people had to be treated for heat-related illnesses during the Soul Food Festival.

The festival along Brevard and 9th Streets had issues from the start. Several people who attended called the WBTV newsroom to complain. They said the music acts were behind schedule because of a generator issue.

The first concert scheduled for late afternoon did not make the stage until after 8:00pm.

People paid $25 a ticket.
