CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The seemingly never-ending heat wave will finally come to an end early next week as a cold front moves in and the hot, muggy air moves out.
High pressure will build into the upper Midwest Monday, moving a frontal boundary south into the Carolinas, but afternoon highs won't drop into the 80s until Tuesday.
This front is also bringing with it much-needed rain chances. Moderate drought conditions are present in parts of the Carolinas due to rainfall deficits of about 5 inches.
As much as 2 inches of rain or more could fall next week.
