CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

New Charlotte Mecklenburg school (CMS) superintendent Dr. Heath Morrison is wasting no time making up his executive cabinet.

Morrison tells WBTV he has made offers to two people to fill the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Accountability Officer positions. He plans to announce his appointments on Monday.

"Very pleased with the two people that we are going to be bringing on board," Morrison said. "And they are going to do great things for the children of Mecklenburg."

WBTV has also learned that Morrison will name current CMS Chief Academic Officer, Ann Clark, his deputy superintendent. On Monday we asked the new superintendent about Clark's role in his administration. He didn't announce her new position but he did say this.

"She will play an incredibly important position," Morrison said. "Ann is an amazing asset to the Charlotte Mecklenburg schools, and she is going to have some opportunities to broaden her leadership and I am excited about that."

WBTV has also learned Morrison will appoint Earnest Winston as his Chief of Staff.

Morrison will make five appointments.  The announcement happens Monday at 2PM at the Government Center.

It is open to the public.
