LENOIR, NC (WBTV) -
The Caldwell County Fire Marshal's office working with the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office, have established suspects in two vacant mobile home fires that have occurred within the last month on Rock Creek Circle in Caldwell County. The second fire occurred early this morning.
Robbie Wilkie, Caldwell County Fire Marshal/Emergency Management Coordinator was called to 4779 Rock Creek Circle just before 2 a.m. by Grace Chapel Fire Department after a neighbor called in the fire at the vacant, mobile home.
This mobile home sits directly behind what is left of a second, vacant, mobile home that burned two weeks ago. Both of the homes were previous rentals owned by Ronald Franklin of South Carolina.
Wilkie says the home was fully involved in flames when fire fighters arrived and that the fire appears to be intentionally set. There was no electricity to the home at the time of the fire.
Investigators are releasing nothing further at this time but are asking that if anyone has any information about the fire to call 828-757-1280.
Responding to the fire in addition to the Caldwell County Fire Marshal's Office, the Caldwell County Sheriff Office and Grace Chapel Fire was Caldwell County EMS and Little River Fire Department.
