After a brief lull from the record-breaking temperatures, highs are forecast to climb into the triple digits again this weekend.
High pressure now over the Midwest once again builds into the upper levels of the atmosphere over the Carolinas, resulting in another round of 100 degree temperatures across the Piedmont. With the humidity factored into the equation, it will feel more like 105 to 108 in the afternoon.
Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and if you do have to be outdoors, make sure you're taking frequent breaks to cool down. Also, don't forget about pets. They should have access to fresh water and shade at all times.
There is some good news, though. This round of heat won't be around long before a cold front moves in and significantly drops our temperatures next week.
