For the first time since 1972, Johnson C. Smith University has athletes going to the Olympics.
Leford Green (pronounced LEE-ford) graduated last year, and over the weekend at Jamaica's Olympic trials, he won the 400 meter hurdles.
Another J.C.S.U alum, Shermaine Williams, also graduated in 2011. Williams qualified for Team Jamaica by taking 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles.
Williams is the first female Olympian in Golden Bulls history.
