CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - There is a shortage of blood in our community.

That's the message the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is trying to spread.

The need is greatest for the type O blood group, particularly as we approach the July 4th holiday.

Martin Grable, president and CEO of the Blood Center, visited WBTV News Saturday Morning to talk about the impact a shortage like this can have on the community and what you can do to donate.
