The Arts Council of York County has announced the recipients of the Small Grants awards for the first quarter of the 2012-2013 fiscal year.
Small Grants are available to individual artists, non-profit organizations, teachers and schools throughout York County.
These grants are designed to support specific arts activities that promote the individual artist's professional development or career advancement, and to support a wide variety of quality arts projects and programs that promote excellence in an arts discipline and make it accessible for general community-wide audiences.
Organizations and individual artists may request up to $1,000 per grant and may receive up to two grants in a calendar year.
The recipients for the 2012-2013 first quarter include:
Boys & Girls Club of York County, $800, to help fund the implementation of a Fine Arts program led by experienced local artists.
Marcee Musgrove, White Lotus Arts, $560, for professional development.
Shakespeare Carolina, $600, to help fund community shows to be performed at Winthrop University's Johnson Hall.
To review guidelines go to www.yorkcountyarts.org under the Grants tab within the Arts Info. The next deadline is September 1, 2012 for programs occurring in October, November and December.
