Charlotte man charged with ski-mask rapes from 1979

Hello again friends, it's Paul Cameron in the WBTV newsroom.

Tonight at 11:00PM—the more we learn about the arrest of a former Charlotte man who's now charged for a series of ski-mask rapes from 1979, the more we're intrigued.  He appears to be the same man who served 25 years in prison for robbing three banks.  According to the Burlington Star News, Brooks held-up at a bank where he was working as branch manager.  $315 thousand was stolen and never recovered.  Today, Brooks was arrested in Surfside Beach, SC and charged with the rapes after the CMPD lab compared DNA samples.

Teachers will get a 3% pay raise, as long as the governor goes along with House and Senate leaders and signs the budget.  Although she doesn't say she'll use a veto, tonight, she's calling it a bad deal for education.

Who will win the battle of the buses?  Hurricane Al Conklin defends his "Media Mayhem" title at the speedway tonight.  We'll see how the man with gusts of 20 mph does at 11:00PM.

Trending on WBTV.com Police in Charlotte say they had to go out to the home of professional wrestler Ric Flair after they received a call for an assault, the second in two years.  Click here for the full story
