Police: Shots fired at Charlotte gas station

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV)- Police in North Charlotte are searching for witnesses to a shooting at a gas station.

Captain John Williams tells WBTV someone fired shots from the parking lot into the convenience store at the Marathon station on LaSalle Road around four o'clock Tuesday morning. No one was hurt but an officer on the scene says a clerk was inside the store at the time and had to duck underneath the counter to avoid being hit.

Officers tell us they could not get a description of the person who fired the shots, so they are not actively looking for anyone at this point.
