Busch aims to stay clear of drama

Charlotte, NC - (WBTV)

Clint bowyer was a winner at Sonoma Raceway Sunday, but it was also a big moment for Kurt Busch, the driver of Phoenix Racing's No. 51 Chevy.

Busch has mostly made the news over the past year for anger issues which eventually led to his release from Penske Racing. The former Sprint Cup Series Champion, was most recently suspended by NASCAR for lashing out at a reporter.

Busch was choked up when he got out of his car, after finishing 3rd in California.

It was overcoming an earlier wreck, to battle at the end for the lead, while driving an unsponsored car, that had him fighting back tears. Later, when addressing media, Busch said 'if I can get my head on straight here and after the race, then I'm able to race every weekend and go for victories".

The Sprint Cup Series heads to Kentucky this weekend.
