Will Charlotte's mayor thwart a compromise budget?

Hello again everyone, it's Paul Cameron in the WBTV newsroom.

Tonight at 5:00PM—will Charlotte's mayor thwart a compromise budget that has support from at least 6 of 11 City Council members?  Should Anthony Foxx exercise his veto power, it would take 7 votes by council to override it—and our Business Reporter Melissa Hankins says, right now, that might be tricky.  The compromise budget cuts the plans for a streetcar and is the least costly of all the proposals they've considered.  They may all change by 5:00.

Breaking news—the family of Kilah Davenport, the 3-year old girl who suffered severe brain damage after police say her stepfather beat her, wants to create a law in her name. Details to come.

We've just learned some horrifying details in the death of Danielle Watson, the manager of the Flying Biscuit, who was stabbed to death earlier this year.  Her full autopsy report has just been released.

Tropical storm Debby has turned into a fickle girl.  Once predicted to go due west to Texas, she's now wetting down the sunshine state on a due east course.  Eric Thomas will tell us if this storm ever plans to make up her mind.
