Two Rescued From Burning Home

Good morning on this Monday, June 25, 2012, from the WBTV News morning team...this is John Carter reporting.

Cam Man Ron Lee is reporting live from north Charlotte this morning...after two people had to be rescued from a burning home on St. John's Street.  Ron was the first reporter on the scene...and he got there as four animals were being pulled from the home!

We also have an overnight update to the terrible wildfires in Colorado...authorities now say 248 homes have been destroyed in fires that have now scorched 118 square miles.

Two Charlotte murder cases head to court today in Mecklenburg County...one of them involving Chauncey Sterling.  He's the teenager accused of shooting and killing Robert Barber, a hospital executive, in the SouthPark area last year.

Funeral services will be held today for the Granite Quarry couple who were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a car last week.

In Union County, a big upgrade for ninth grade students is on its way.  Dedrick Russell will have more in this morning's School Zone report.

Also...College World Series action...as the South Carolina Gamecocks take on Arizona in the opening game of the championship series.  We'll have highlights.
