CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two teens have been arrested after they broke into a home in University City, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

The incident happened Thursday around 6:30 p.m. at a home on Brushwood Drive.

According to police, a witness called 911 and reported seeing two people who appeared to be kicking in the back door of his neighbor's home.

When officers arrived at the house, they found the back door damaged and open. They then went inside to find the two suspects hiding in a hallway closet, a report from CMPD says.

Police identified the pair as Jeffrey Cooper, 16, and Shakil Middlebrooks, 19.

The teens were arrested and charged with breaking and entering with force.
