Bobcats lose coaching candidate

Charlotte, NC (WBTV) -The Charlotte Bobcats short list of possible head coaching candidates got even shorter when hall of fame coach Jerry Sloan informed the Bobcats that he was taking his name out of contention.

Sloan's decision leaves Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Quin Snyder as the two leading candidates considering both were given second interviews by the Bobcats.

But according to reports, president of basketball operations Rod Higgins said neither have been offered the job and right now there is no timetable for a decision.

The Bobcats worked out their first crop of potential draft picks Friday, but none of them would be considered good enough for the Bobcats to select number two overall.

The NBA draft is Thursday, June 28th.
