Local doctor loses license - investigators say he was a "Dr. Feelgood"

The skies have cleared over Charlotte; hope it's nice where you are this afternoon.  This is Maureen O'Boyle in the WBTV newsroom; we're busy getting the 5 p.m. newscast together.

Local doctor loses license for being a "Dr. Feelgood" and for prescribing too many pain pills!  Investigators say Dr. John Barr was prescribing oxycodone to patients who didn't really need the amphetamine.  We first broke this story on WBTV.com and have spent the day gathering new details on a long history of trouble the doctor had with the North Carolina medical board.  We're also talking with a former patient who says she knew something there was something fishy about her physician!

Twenty one people have died so far this year in Charlotte; we've seen gunfire in a neighborhood grocery store where people were shopping, a man killed trying to break up a fight overnight.  What has happened to this city?
