CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Cancer is back in 7-year old Isabella Santos's small body, and her parents tell WBTV there isn't much more that can be done.

WBTV has been following Isabella's strong battle with neuroblastoma for years.  The south Charlotte girl was diagnosed at 2-and-a-half years old.

Monday night Isabella's father, Stuart Santos, said it has been a long journey but doctors told them it is coming to an end.

When Stuart and Erin Santos got the news this week, they decided to take Isabella and their other two children, Grant and Sophia, on a rush-trip to Disney World. Make-a-Wish sent Isabella there years ago.  At that time Isabella fell in love with the princesses and has talked about them ever since.

Word got out about trying to get to Disney and in a few hours, the giving people of Charlotte started donating. Someone in Charlotte flew them down in a private plane, someone else paid for hotel rooms.

The Santos Family arrived Sunday night in time to see the fireworks above the castle.

"We are so grateful to the support in Charlotte," Stuart said by phone Monday night.  "This community is so full of love.  We appreciate what everyone does for Isabella, and us.  We wish there wasn't such a thing as childhood cancer."

Stuart sent WBTV some pictures from looking at the fireworks Sunday night and from a breakfast the Santos family had with all the Disney characters Monday morning.

If you'd like to do something to help Isabella, her parents encourage you to donate to a foundation they established in her name years ago.  Money raised goes to find a cure for neuroblastoma.   You can read more about their foundation and give here:

The foundation's annual 5K will be held September 22nd.  You can register for that run on the above site.
