CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have
arrested Roberto Javier Polanco-Osorio, 21, and Ramone Barry
Brice, 19, for their involvement in two armed robberies. On
May 5, Eastway Division officers responded to a robbery call in the 2100
block of Eastway Drive. The victim stated that he was robbed at gunpoint.
On Tuesday, May 8, CMPD Robbery Detectives received
information that the victim's stolen credit card from the robbery was used at a
fast food restaurant on Eastway Drive. Information and evidence collected
during the investigation revealed that Roberto Javier Polanco-Osorio was the
individual using the credit card.
A photo lineup was developed and the
robbery victim positively identified Polanco-Osorio as one of the suspects who
robbed him at gunpoint. An arrest warrant was filed on Polanco-Osorio as a
result of this information.
On May 30, Polanco-Osorio was arrested by the CMPD's
Violent Criminal Apprehension Team for the robbery. Information and
evidence obtained also revealed that Ramone Barry Brice was also involved
in the robbery and that both suspects committed an additional robbery at
gunpoint on April 30 in the 2500 block of Roseview Lane.
Brice was arrested yesterday without incident at an apartment on
Dunlavin Way. A consensual search of the apartment resulted in detectives
recovering the weapon believed to be the one the suspects used in the robberies
along with stolen property belonging to the victims. Both suspects have been
charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Anyone with additional information concerning these cases or
suspects is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 704.334.1600.
