HICKORY, NC (WBTV) - A federal task force is recommending against
regular PSA screening for healthy men. For years, doctors have used PSA
levels to help determine if a man is at risk for prostate cancer. The
new guidelines have created confusion and controversy between experts
who say the test saves lives, and others who say it does more harm than
good.
In Wednesday's Health Connections, Dr. Matthew Creighton discusses the benefits and dangers of PSA screening.
You can watch Health Connections Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and again Thursdays on WBTV This Morning.
Each week, a medical professional from Frye
Regional Medical Center will bring you timely information to help keep
you and your family safe.
