Panthers OTA's Continue

The Carolina Panthers continued their organized team activities

today at Bank of America Stadium.

The workouts are voluntary for the veterans but almost

everyone was there with the exception of receiver Steve Smith

who had an excused absence. Injured linebackers Thomas Davis

and  Jon Beason participated in some drills while receiver

David Ghettis, who missed all of last season due to injury,

was able to take part in all drills giving Quarterback Cam Newton

another target.

Newton looks ready to take on more of a leadership role,

saying if you have to ask yourself whether you're a leader

or a follower then you are not in a good place.

Coach Ron Rivera is happy to have everybody back and healthy

but says the team has a long way to go to get to the level

he wants them playing at this season.
