Deputies: Step-dad injured toddler girl, held on $1 million bond

UNION COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

A 22-year-old man is facing charges after deputies say he critically injured his step-daughter after hitting her.

According to the Union County Sheriff's Office, Joshua Wilford Houser, 22, was arrested on Thursday night and charged with felony child abuse.

Deputies say he said he hit his 3-year-old step-daughter with a blunt object. She was transported to Jeff Gordon's Children's Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Houser, who lives along the 9000 block of Covey Trail, was arrested around 7:38 p.m. Thursday night and is being held on a $1 million bond
