Primary election results on Amendment One and local, state races

Good morning it's Christine Nelson! So much to tell you about on this Wednesday, May 9. WBTV News This Morning is on from 4:30 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.

We're on your side going through primary election results. We know who will be going head-to-head in the North Carolina gubernatorial race, the candidates who are now in a runoff in the race to represent the 9th Congressional District. We, of course, have reaction from both sides on the passage of Amendment One. So much to cover!

There is a steady rain coming down in the 4 a.m. hour. It's a welcome arrival but you know what that sometimes does to the morning commute. Al Conklin and Tonya Rivens will have the most reliable updates every 10 minutes.

Developing: There's been a break in the case of one of two shootings that happened in Charlotte's Grier Heights neighborhood. Police contacted WBTV about their recent arrest.

We're learning a lot more about the Charlotte soldier killed in Afghanistan during an IED attack. He was a decorated serviceman.

Don't forget to stay through our 6 a.m. hour for all new stories!

See you on the air!
