Duke Energy Protestors Stop Train

Hello again everyone, it's Paul Cameron in the WBTV newsroom.

Tonight at 5:00PM—environmental protestors block a train from delivering coal to Duke Energy's Marshal Steam plant.  Four members of Greenpeace USA chained themselves to protest coal they claim is derived from mountain top removal.

Peaceful protestors uptown at Duke's headquarters for its annual shareholders' meeting.  Our Melissa Hankins says Duke officials now say the planned merger with Progress Energy is looking iffy.

A south Charlotte jewelry store robbed.  The father and son owners put up a fight, now one of them is in the hospital.

And, despite this week's heat, apple farmers are counting their losses after the recent freeze.  Some say it's as bad as 30%-50% of their crop.
