Thousands pack Mooresville to welcome home wounded Marine

Hey all, it's Chris from the WBTV.com Web Desk.  We're taking a look at the major headlines on this Friday night.

A wounded Marine is back home in Mooresville tonight, after a hero's welcome. Thousands of people packed downtown, as hundreds of motorcycles escorted Marine Corporal Garrett Carnes home. Cpl. Carnes lost both of his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan in February. Tonight at 11 p.m., WBTV talked to the wounded Marine about his ordeal, and his return home.

And... a teenage boy being called a hero after firefighters say he saved his sister from a two-alarm fire that broke out at a town home in Charlotte's Ballantyne area.

Plus - the man who was the last person seen with a missing Fort Bragg soldier has been arrested by police. Kelli Bordeaux hasn't been seen since she left the bar with a man last weekend. That man - a registered sex offender - was arrested today for violation of his sex offender status. We'll have the latest on the case, tonight at 11 p.m.

Trending on WBTV.com: A brazen midday rendezvous. A Rock Hill couple is facing charges after police say they were busted having sex in a swing outside of City Hall in the middle of the afternoon. Click here for the full story.
