Three years ago, the Olympic High School Baseball program, welcomed a new coach to the clubhouse. Since the addition of head coach J.P. Culp, the Trojans have progressed quickly into becoming a playoff contender. They are 12 and 3 overall.
The team also has the leadership of 4 seniors to thank for the success.
Tyler Byrnes, a 4-years starter, is one of those student-athletes. As the team's ace, this future catawba indian has grown from someone with just a really tough fastball .. to now a pitcher who's a triple threat.
Tyler's fastball, change up and curve-ball combined with the ability to command that strike zone, are the reason for his .54 earned run average.
For Byrnes, his mental toughness, is also a quality he will take with him to the next level.
