According to NHRA.com, this is the third year in a row that Hagan has been involved in an explosion at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals.

"Not exactly the outcome we wanted today," Hagan posted on his Facebook Friday night. "Big explosion in the first session and slowed to an 8.39 in the second session."

Last year's champ continued to update his fans with a little joke about making a highlight reel.

"I'm ok, but you'll want to check out ESPN tomorrow night to see what happened," he said.
