Cold snap hitting area one more night before warmer weather arrives

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte region is in for another night of near freezing temperatures as a Canadian cold front finally begins to move out of the area.

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Frost Advisory for the viewing area from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday morning.

The temperature in the Charlotte area is forecast to be around 35 degrees overnight before warming back up into the 70s Friday.

In the mountain counties, a Freeze Warning is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday morning as the temperature may dip into the upper 20s overnight, according to the NWS.

Friday morning marks the end of a week long cold snap as weekend temperatures will steadily climb, 70s on Saturday and near 80 degrees on Sunday.

No rain is in the forecast.
