Spring break is over for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools but the final countdown begins today to find a permanent superintendent. WBTV will get to meet the final three candidates still standing. We'll also break down the problems he or she will face within the district once they're hired.

Also, it seems too regular that we're hearing about pedestrians being struck by a car. The latest incident happened in Union County. The victim died. We'll bring you details on the investigation.

New overnight: A car hits a power pole in south Charlotte. There was evidence at the scene that has police thinking the driver was intoxicated. We'll show the scene shortly after the accident happened.
