Civil Rights in Black and White

The students in this part of the RUNDNC2012 project were asked to think about leadership.  They learned about leaders who made a difference on Charlotte's Westside.  And then, they created stories about the leaders who inspire them today.

By Emanuel Reid, JCSU

Emanuel Reid,  an underclassman at Johnson C. Smith University tells a story of leadership during the Civil Rights Movement that many people don't know.   While black Americans fought for equal citizenship rights,  they did not stand  alone.   Emanuel introduces us to 3 people who's leadership inspired him.
