Man steals from Walmart, pulls razor blade on employees

YORK, SC (WBTV) - A man was arrested after police say he pulled a knife while stealing merchandise from Walmart.

The incident was reported at 8:50 a.m. Monday at the Walmart on East Liberty Street, according to a news release from the York Police Department.

Ralph Lee Thompson, 52, was arrested and taken to the York City Jail to be processed, police said.

Store employees spotted Thompson walking out of the store without paying for his merchandise. When they tried to confront him, he pulled out a razor blade and threatened them with it, according to the release.

Police located Thompson shortly afterwards at the car wash between Walmart and Lowe's.

Several items from the store were recovered including socks, t-shirts and two car radio amplifiers.
