SPENCER, NC (WBTV) - The North Carolina Transportation Museum is celebrating a milestone anniversary for Amtrak.
The museum in Spencer is hosting an Amtrak train which has been turned into a big exhibit, featuring old conductors uniforms and an interactive horn display-- all in honor of the railroad's 40th anniversary.
The museum's executive director says the railroad has been critical to North Carolina's transportation system for centuries.
The exhibit is free, although you will have to pay to enter the actual museum itself.
The Amtrak train will be on display from 10 am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
