LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) - Two men were arrested Friday in connection to the murder of a 23-year-old mother in January.
Devatee Clinton, 24, and Wayne Blakeney, 20, are charged with murder, according to a news release from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
A third person is also wanted in the case, deputies say.
Deputies in Lancaster County say a mother of three was found shot to death after her young son ran to a neighbor's house late in the night on January 19th.
According to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home along the 1900 block of Rose Anna Lane at 10:22 p.m. on Thursday night to the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found the body of 23-year-old Jenika Jones on a couch in the home with apparent gunshot wounds.
Deputies say a neighbor was alerted to a problem after Jones' 4-year-old son ran from the home and began beating on their door. That's when the neighbor saw three people running away from Jones' home, deputies told WBTV.
"I want to see what was the problem, why they shot her," said Arkevia Cloud, Jones' aunt. "She was a sweet person. She loved her kids and everything. She was a real sweet person."
Criminal Investigators, Crime Scene Investigators, and K-9 tracking deputies arrived on scene and began a detailed investigation.
Family members told WBTV on Friday that Jones' three children were staying with their father and Jones' mother.
Both men are being held in the Lancaster County Detention Center.
