LIVE: Assessing damage from Mecklenburg County tornado; Storm warning: Don't get scammed!; Family escapes Myers Park house fire;

Good Monday morning! It's March 5. This is Christine Nelson. I just took a final look at the rundown. Here's are some of the stories we're reporting on when you tune us in at 4:30 a.m.

More than 200 homes across North Carolina were damaged by the weekend storms, some of them in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties. Our Kristen Hampton is live from the Charlotte neighborhood that was struck by the EF-2 tornado. We also have information on the help that has been requested to help storm victims in the coming days.

Plus... one of the first warnings officials want to pass along to victims of the storm: Don't get scammed! We're on your side with the red flags you should be looking for. Who can you trust? What resources are out there to know you're working with a reputable company?

Also, WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee is at the house fire in Myers Park, where a family barely escapes. He has the details on what happened.

We'll see you on the air!
