BETHEL, OH (FOX19) -
Three people are confirmed dead in Clermont County.
64-year-old Carol Forsee, a member of the Moscow Village Council, was found dead on Elizabeth Street in Moscow. Around 60 homes in Moscow are damaged; some of the homes have only their foundations left; some homes have been completed destroyed and are down to their foundations.
58-year-old Bill Adkins and 54-year-old James Prater of Bethel were both found dead in their homes Friday night. In Bethel, at least 25 homes were damaged, including at least four that are considered a total loss.
The Board of Clermont County Commissioners has declared a state of emergency in Clermont County due to extensive damage in the southern part of the county.
The declaration will allow the governor to activate the National Guard to help with debris removal in impacted areas and allow for other resources to be made available. The Clermont County Sheriff's Office is asking that citizens do not enter the village of Moscow. Citizens in the village are asked to go to a common area and wait for deputies to escort them out.
Two emergency shelters will be available to citizens impacted by the severe weather. The Red Cross has opened a shelter at New Richmond High School, located at 1131 Bethel New Richmond Road. This shelter will be set up initially for 50 people, but there will be room for more people if needed.
Another temporary shelter will be located at the Bethel Firehouse, located at 149 N. East Street in Bethel.
