Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has released security video after a deer jumped through the window of a classroom, that sent students screaming from the room.

The incident was reported at East Mecklenburg High School on the 6800 block of Monroe Road just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.

According to students inside the classroom, it happened during an English class.

WBTV has learned there were approximately 25 students in the classroom when the deer crashed through the window. None of the students suffered major injuries, one student reportedly jammed a finger.

Students told WBTV that the deer landed on one student's back.

That is when the students say the deer ran down the school's hallway. Employees at the school were able to get some doors open and get the deer out of the building.

Animal Control officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were on the way to the scene to help corral the animal. WBTV has learned that the deer was hurt pretty badly.
